The story behind Journify: why we started, who we build for, and where we are headed.

Every day, special education teams make hundreds of decisions that shape students’ lives, yet too much of their time goes to documenting services, writing reports, searching for information, and coordinating across disconnected systems instead of working directly with students.

After spending hundreds of hours alongside special education teachers, related service providers, school psychologists, and district leaders, we kept seeing the same challenge. The expertise was already there, but the information was not. Valuable insights were scattered across reports, emails, service logs, and multiple software systems, making collaboration harder than it should be.

That is why we built Journify.

Not to replace educators, but to give them back time. By bringing documentation, collaboration, progress monitoring, and AI assistance into one place, Journify helps multidisciplinary teams spend less time on paperwork and more time supporting students.

Co-Founder & CEO

Mara founded Journify while pursuing graduate degrees in Education and Business at Stanford University. Coming from a family of educators and after previously building companies in the K-12 space, she set out to help special education teams spend less time on paperwork and more time supporting students.

Sagar Manchanda

Co-Founder & CTO

Sagar co-founded Journify to build AI that fits the real workflows of special education teams. Before Journify, he built products at Microsoft and Atlassian, bringing deep experience in scalable software and AI to help schools save time and better support students.
